Best Summer Ever
The Waupaca Chain Skiers are an all-volunteer competitive water ski club that provides water ski instruction and free entertaining shows to the public. Our club emphasizes safety, team building, friendship and skills development. We have everything needed to ensure all members, regardless of skill level, are able to participate and enjoy time with the team on or off the water, including skiing, announcing, acting, creative direction, sound production, costumes, boat driving, or helping with safety on the docks and in the boats.

When & Where do you perform?
Our ski season runs all summer long, June through August, with home shows every Saturday night in front of the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King on Rainbow Lake.
When & where do you practice?
Main Show Practice:
TUES/WED/THURS 5-8pm.
Junior Practice:
MON/WED 1-4pm, FRI 10am - 1pm
Practices are held on Rainbow Lake off of Grandview Dr. All practices are not mandatory, but you'll hate to miss the fun!
What does membership cost?
$170 per Skier (includes t-shirt)
$40 per Non-Skier (includes t-shirt)
*All members under the age of 16 must join with an adult.

How old do I have to be?
Our team has members of all ages, from 4 years old to 80! Some ski, some drive boats, some write scripts, some coil ropes and others just dance on land - There's something for everyone!
What if I've never water skied?
No previous experience is required, but skiers must be able to swim. We have skilled and knowledgeable skiers on hand at all practices to provide instruction. We also have a lot of team roles that don't even require a swim suit. Don't worry, we'll show you the ropes! (Pun intended.)
Anything else?
The Waupaca Chain Skiers strive to provide a safe and positive environment for our members. As part of USA Water Ski & Wake Sports, all of our members 18+ years old are required to complete Safe Sport Training, designed to prevent, recognize, and respond to abuse, harassment, and bullying in the sport.

Registration for our 2026 season will open on Feb. 1, 2026
NEW in 2026 - Chain Skier 2026 theme shirt is INCLUDED in the membership pricing.
We offer two registration groups, Skiers and Support. Skiers are anyone who will be skiing at practices and/or in shows. All skiers under the age of 16 are required to have at least one parent/guardian join as a Support member.
Additionally, USA Waterski membership and Wisconsin Waterski Federation memberships are required for participation with the team. Links to those sites are below.
